Call Center Applicants in their 40’s

Call center applicant in his 40’s? Yes, we have applicants who are in their 40’s, and they’re welcome to work here.

That’s one good thing about call center operations. Age is not so much consideration before you get hired. All you need to do is to pass the interviews, assessments and tests and you’ll surely land a job in this industry.

I’ve been watching the local news today and I saw the struggle of a woman who was laid off from work. She’s in her 40’s, with 26 years of experience as a sewer in a textile company but she is very much challenged in her job application because of her age.

Which made me remember the applicants I saw on queue this morning. The crowd profile is really interesting. I saw some ‘fresh’ graduates, some who share the same age as my mom’s and I even saw a group of men who are more mature than my parents. All of them looked excited and hopeful.

I really hope that they also find their place in the call center industry. This offers a lot of opportunities for people who are skilled and willing to learn new things.

Why do other industries consider 40 as over age for their applicants?
