Call center agent interview: 8 mistakes u must not COMMIT
I
have seen many a candidates who look astonishing by their paper and
their paid CV but…believe me absolute disasters in person. Forget other
thing, they don’t even know much about their CV. Imagine, the
interviewer is asking, "OK, take me through your working life, in
reverse chronological order", and what you get to see is a confused
face across with mumbling vocabulary.
Here from my personal
experience for wannabe call center agents spread all across the world I
am writing down 10 interview mistakes that you can take care of with
slight preplanning and determination.
1.
As I have said in the beginning, know your CV. Simple. If you got
it written by an expert, read it, re-read it. There’s no escape from
here.
2. Poor Handshake: Those first
three seconds of handshake to create your first impression. Firm but
not hard, polite but not meek.
3. Talking too much: Over talkative candidates are head sore. The sooner they leave are better for the interviewer.
4. Negative talk about former company/manager: That’s a complete no no and courtesy less.
5.
Missed the appointment by 10 minutes (or half an hour): Believe
me, a late coming at the interview successfully pisses of HR managers.
Sometimes they are mean, and can not see beyond anything which is not
ego pleasing.
6. Talking to
receptionist/guards rudely: In some companies, the moment you are
inside the campus, you are under surveillance. So, be prepared.
7.
No preparation: At least try to gather information about when is
the last time it won a cricket trophy if not vision, mission statement.
8. Fumbling: Hmm..yes/no/may be…if you are not sure, don’t speak. Don’t speak to break the silence.
